Performance Analysis allows operational performance of pumping systems to be evaluated and operational problems or under performance investigated. This involves a combination of our computer simulation studies to calculate system design performance together with the collection of site test data to determine actual performance from a pre determined test programme.

High-speed, remote access data loggers are used to record a range of site test data. The data can then be compared to the predicted results from the simulation study and differences analysed to identify system failures. Alternative solutions can then be tested in the model to determine the most cost effective solution.

This combination of techniques, together with our in house expertise allows a cost effective, non-intrusive and analytical approach to be utilised in problem investigation and the testing of options ensures best value is obtained for capital maintenance.

Key features of the service are:

  • Remote monitoring of data collection
  • Analysis of data
  • Comparison of site data to design data
  • Optioneering

This approach can be used on a wide range of schemes and some typical examples are given below:

  • Validation of surge analysis results
  • Confirmation of as built performance
  • Confirmation of current operating performance of existing assets
  • Identifying areas of system under performance
  • Investigation into pumping station operational efficiency

The comparison of actual performance to predicted performance, when undertaken by an experienced engineer, is a powerful diagnostic tool to identify system failures and operational problems.
