Noise
Surge pressures cause sudden changes in pressure that often causes equipment operation that is unusually noisy (and can cause vibration and movement). Non-return-valve and air valve slam are the two best know events and each causes severe noise that can ‘resonate’ through the piping systems.
We also detect instances of cavitation through valves and pumps that can lead to customer complaints or noise levels above health & safety standards.
Excessive noise is a well-known and difficult problem to solve. But in some cases surge pressures and poor hydraulic operation may be the cause and in these cases we can determine the problem and propose remedial measures.
